Leh, located in the Leh district, was also the historical capital of the Kingdom of Ladakh. Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir, Leh is known for its stunning scenic locales, Buddhist temples, and pristine environment. Due to the strong influence of Tibetan Buddhism, Leh is also known as Little Tibet or the Land of Lamas. Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport isthe only tourist airport in Ladakh. It is a public-use airport located 2 km southwest of Leh, a town in Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is one of the highest airportsin the world at an elevation of 3,256 m (10,682 ft.) above mean sea level. The Best time to visit Ladakh is during the summerseason from the month of April to July during this time Ladakh temperature is between 15 to 30 Degree Celsius. Ladakh is known for its extremely low temperatures almost all through the year. Pangong Tso Lake, Zanskar Valley, Khardung La, Hemis Monastery,Nubra Valley, Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, Thiksey Monastery, Hemis National Park, Tso Moriri Lake are must-visittourist places in Ladakh.
